Bonnie Background




Bonnie Hammel is happy! She wants you, your family, friends and co-workers to be happy as well. She has overcome significant challenges in her life including being married to a quadriplegic, suffering a brain hemorrhage and surviving when her car drove over her. Yet she remains gracious, optimistic and looking to the future.

In her warm, comfortable style, Bonnie presents her amazing story of resilience along with the tools you need to be happy. She is a memorable speaker. Audience members are uplifted just hearing her heart-warming presentation.

Bonnie has been in front of audiences since she was four years old, either as a speaker or a singer. She has appeared as a soloist with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra and Minnesota Opera. She was a soloist and section leader in the Chancel Choir at Wayzata Community Church for 25 years.

As part of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter, she gave 23 radio interviews and appeared on 5 television programs. She served as President of AccessAbility, Inc., a rehabilitation facility in Minneapolis, MN, for 12 years.

Bonnie is proud to have been elected as president of many organizations, including the Minnesota Rehabilitation Association, the Minnesota Association of Community Rehabilitation Organizations, Hobby Acres Homeowners Association and the Hopkins Rotary Club.

She is a licensed Realtor and has taught continuing education classes for Realtors. She has been named a Super Real Estate Agent by Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine from 2008 through 2013. She graduated from Wheaton College (Illinois) and has a Master of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

She speaks regularly to Occupational Therapy students at St. Catherine University. Other speaking venues include keynotes and breakout sessions at conferences, staff training at companies, Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions Clubs, presentations at senior living facilities as well as venues looking for an inspiring speaker.
